LOYAL FOLLOWING Lopez and Affleck made nice, even though the Sox lost

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez made a public show of affection Saturday night, but most people were too busy watching a melee to notice the on-again lovebirds. The two emerged from seclusion in Georgia and attended Game 3 of the playoff series between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox at Boston's Fenway Park, and while Fox TV cameras briefly showed them together in the stands, the main attention-getter that evening was a bench-clearing brawl among players and coaches of the two teams during the fourth inning.

The fight, sparked by errant pitches from both teams, included a moment in which 72-year-old Yankees bench coach Don Zimmer took a swing at Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez, with Martinez responding by throwing Zimmer to the ground. (Zimmer apologized at a Sunday press conference, saying ''I'm embarrassed for what happened.'') No word if the spectacle on the field provoked any strife between Boston boy Affleck and Bronx native J. Lo, whose Bronx Bombers beat the Sox 4 to 3 and are now ahead in the series two games to one.
