It sounded like a charming idea: a return not merely to drawn animation but to the playful simplicity of Disney's 1960s Winnie the Pooh cartoons. In execution, it is charming...and also a little monotonous. The animators tap our nostalgia for Pooh — the Charlie Brown of honey drippers — and for the gently homogenized whimsical flavor that was A.A. Milne gone Magic Kingdom. But these cutely interlocked daydream tales (of Eeyore losing his tail, of Pooh's endless quest for that golden syrupy nectar) end up floating a bit too weightlessly through the air. B–
