Kathryn Bigelow's Osama bin Laden Pic Sparks Pentagon Inquiry

The Oscar-winning director draws attention from House Committe on Homeland Security

Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker) is making a film about the takedown of Osama bin Laden that is creating its own political intrigue. Rep. Peter T. King (R-N.Y.), who chairs the House Committee on Homeland Security, has successfully triggered a Department of Defense investigation after questioning whether Bigelow's team received any classified information to help with their film, due out Dec. 19. There's no public evidence they did, and the filmmakers and distributor Sony Pictures aren't commenting. The CIA, however, has responded to King's inquiry by saying they will create new written guidelines for dealing with the entertainment industry.
