Adventure Time

Okay for kids?

Min. Age 7-9 Yrs Old

This clever show doesn’t shy away from violence and uses mild slang, but subtly drops good lessons for kids with storylines like Finn getting upset about books being mistreated. A.W.

(Cartoon Network) In this animated TV series like none other, we follow the adventures of Finn, a 14 year old human boy, and his best friend Jake, a dog with magical powers to change shape and grow and shrink at will. Finn and Jake live in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo. Think of everything you loved when you were a kid: candy, swords, noble heroes, beautiful princesses, costumes, dogs, sleepovers, hanging out with your best friend, pranks, magic, whatever. Now think of everything you were scared of when you were a kid: vampires, aliens, skeletons, the ocean, darkness, girls, boys, minotaurs, whatever. Adventure Time is all that and more. The story of a kid and his magic stretching dog, the show is simultaneously silly and scary, endearingly naive and deeply cynical.
