Cyndi Lauper is officially one step closer to an EGOT. The singer who already has a Grammy, plus an Emmy for her guest stint on Mad About You took home the best-score Tony award on June 9 for Kinky Boots. The hit musical also nabbed five other awards, including best new musical. So does Lauper have her sights set on an Oscar? ''I can't think like that,'' she told reporters on the red carpet at NYC's Radio City Music Hall. ''Let's enjoy the moment.'' It was a banner year for black performers, with wins for Billy Porter (lead actor in Kinky Boots), Patina Miller (lead actress in Pippin, which was also named best musical revival), Courtney B. Vance (featured actor in the play Lucky Guy), and the legendary Cicely Tyson (lead actress in a play for The Trip to Bountiful). And four-time Tony host Neil Patrick Harris stole the show, dancing with Mike Tyson, poking fun at canceled TV shows like Smash, and rapping to ''Empire State of Mind'' in the closing number. As Judith Light (a featured-actress winner for the play The Assembled Parties) told EW, ''I think he's a genius.''
