DRESS FOR SUCCESS Carlton makes a point of not allowing herself to be marketed as a knockoff of another artist, such as fellow pianists Fiona Apple and Tori Amos or young lookalike Michelle Branch. ''People are still telling me how to dress, and I just, I won't do it,'' says the 21-year-old. ''I think it happens a lot with women, and it tends not to happen as much with men. I completely admire Fiona and Tori, and I have all their records, but we all have different songs and a different perspective on the world.''
