FLAMINGO DANCER Carlton sidestepped her way into music while training to be a dancer at New York's prestigious School of American Ballet. ''It was difficult for me because the teachers and people around me were completely unsupportive. I was slowly losing that connection with dancing and couldn't remember why I started. I found an old piano near the kitchen on my floor in my dormitory, and I would just play and play. I felt like I was as beat up as the piano, and we both kind of found each other. I haven't stopped ever since.'' She adds, ''Ironically, now that I'm not doing it, I like dancing again.''
