Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (LucasArts, PC, T, $49.95) What is it with George Lucas and trilogies? The third title in the Dark Forces line, Jedi Outcast, is yet another engrossing first-person shooter-and-saber fest. Once again assume the role of Jedi Kyle Katarn, this time on a mission that basically requires you to blast the hell out of an army of less-than-intimidating stormtroopers. With an impressive array of weapons, items, and levels, as well as puzzles that will challenge (and unlike many other games, not annoy), the Force is strong with this one. THE ASSIST When battling biting insects, forgo your blaster for the stun baton while in the crouch position. You'll save ammo -- and yourself. THE LAST SHOT You wield a lightsaber, maim imperial officers, and hang tough with Lando Calrissian. What more do you want? THE GRADE A -- Dalton Ross
