The New Guy (2002)

EW's GRADE
C+

Details Release Date: May 10, 2002; Rated: PG-13; Length: 100 Minutes; Genre: Comedy; With: Eliza Dushku, Eddie Griffin and D.J. Qualls; Distributor: Columbia Pictures

DJ Qualls looks like David Spade's kid brother turned into a stringbean Pinocchio. Playing a walking disaster area who gets ''trained'' in the ways of badass, Qualls does rubber-faced parodies of youth cool that are just what youth cool deserves. The New Guy itself sounds like a Pauly Shore reject, and pretty much is.
