Got a jones for the incoherent plots and poor dubbing of the kung fu theater of yesteryear? Then look no further than Drunken Master, Chan's first take on punchy pugilist Wong Fei-Hung: It's the stinky retro cheese you want. But if it's a good movie you're after, then walk on by; not even the inventiveness of director Yuen Wo Ping (you know, the guy who choreographed The Matrix) can make this thing fly. There's a reason Dimension chose the sequel, Drunken Master II, to release theatrically last year (retitled The Legend of Drunken Master) -- it's better in every measurable way. For Jackie purists only.
