THE WASH

What separates The Wash from countless other bad movies is the laid-back tone of its mean-spiritedness. Apart from the bilious explosions of Eminem (in a wisely uncredited supporting role), director D.J. Pooh infuses the attendant malfeasance (drug dealing, pimping, kidnapping, etc.) with a jaundiced indifference, epitomized by the heavy-lidded attitude of a not uncharismatic Dogg. As the herbin' cowboy of the car-cleaning enterprise, he gives this baleful comedy some much-needed froth. There's plenty of noize in the hood -- but not much else.
