They really are friendly skies. In the aftermath of 9/11, a potentially offensive 15 seconds have been cut from Gwyneth Paltrow's upcoming flight-attendant comedy A View From the Top (also starring Kelly Preston, Christina Applegate, and Mike Myers). ''There's a sequence in which Mike Myers plays the head of a boot camp for flight attendants,'' explains producer Bobby Cohen. ''It's a whole training sequence, and there's one bit about what to do if there's a terrorist on the plane. Obviously, with Mike doing it, it was very funny. But out of sensitivity for what's going on, we felt that it wasn't really in the best taste.'' The film, set for release in August, still includes its fair share of Myers' off-color humor. ''[His character] always wanted to be a flight attendant,'' says Applegate. ''But he has a handicap. I can't say what it is.'' We're betting on a peanut allergy.
