MONDAY February 25

8-9PM 7TH HEAVEN (The WB, TV-G) Everyone's favorite comedian -- no, not Kevin Meaney -- is back on the air when Richard Lewis begins a five-episode stint as a rabbi.

8-8:30PM THE KING OF QUEENS (CBS, TV-PG-L) How much moolah would it take to make you hang out with your annoying cousin? For Doug and Carrie the price tag reaches $1,500, and even that seems a bit low.

10-11PM FEAR NO MORE: STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN (Lifetime) Brooke Shields hosts this special profiling five women with the courage to escape physically abusive relationships.

10-11PM REAL SPORTS WITH BRYANT GUMBEL (HBO, TV-PG) Tonight's program includes a report on a coalition of concerned adults (read: overprotective dorks) seeking to ban dodgeball in schools.

10PM-12:30AM FORREST GUMP (Cinemax, TV-PG-13) Ummmm, chocolate.

REVISTING THE VOICE 8-9PM BILLIE HOLIDAY: SENSATIONAL LADY (A&E, TV-PG) This BBC-coproduced Biography doesn't quite prove its revisionist thesis that the melancholy jazz singer was more a willing hedonist than a tragic victim; her life (childhood rape, forced abortion, domestic abuse, drug busts) was simply too sad. But it does benefit from an outstanding lineup of interviewees (including pianist Billy Taylor, critic Stanley Crouch, and poet Maya Angelou) and an abundance of heartbreaking concert clips, which speak for themselves. B+ -- Bruce Fretts

TUESDAY February 26

THE RETURN OF RILEY! 8-9PM BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (UPN, TV-14) Buffy's ex-beau is back -- and he's as boring as ever!

9-10PM SMALLVILLE (The WB, TV-PG-DV) Clark doesn't need super smarts to realize Lex has a shady side.

9-10PM HOLLYWOOD SALUTES NICOLAS CAGE: AN AMERICAN CINEMA-THEQUE TRIBUTE (TNT, TV-14-V) Well, Gone in 60 Seconds pretty much sucked, but his work in Valley Girl and Raising Arizona more than makes up for it. So, yeah, we'll salute the guy.

10-11PM DESTINY'S CHILD REVEALED (E!, TV-PG) ''I remember the pain we felt backstage, it was so sad.'' You'd think Beyonce Knowles was talking about a family or band member dying, but that's actually her discussing the agony of losing a Star Search competition. Poor gal.

NOT CATE BLANCHETT 9-10PM ELIZABETH (History Channel, TV-G) Her mother was beheaded by Henry VIII, and she was sexually abused by her stepfather and imprisoned by her ruthless sister, Mary. And that was all before age 25. History Channel's docu miniseries tells the story of the poised, whip-smart monarch-to-be and is as compelling as the 1998 film of the same name. That said, one wishes it had done without the melodramatic reenactments. Forsooth, they're silly as hell. (Concludes March 1.) B+ -- Mike Flaherty

WEDNESDAY February 27

8-9PM ED (NBC, TV-PG) Perhaps seeking the company of a younger man, Kelly Ripa ditches Reege for a stint in Stuckeyville, where she woos Ed tonight.

MUSIC TO HIS EARS 8-11PM THE GRAMMY AWARDS (CBS, TV-PG) Perhaps the only thing funnier about the Grammys than host Jon Stewart (above) is the fact that Dr. Ruth is nominated in the Best Spoken Word Album for Children category. I guess you're never too young!

8-9PM ENTERPRISE (UPN, TV-PG) T'Pol gets all hot and bothered when she allows herself to feel emotions. Viewers follow her lead.

9-11:30PM* EGYPT'S GOLDEN EMPIRE (PBS, TV-PG) Ah, the Egyptians. They conquered the Hittites, built incredible tombs, and inspired a most excellent dance craze later popularized by hot-to-trot rock babes the Bangles. *CHECK LOCAL LISTINGS

9-10PM THE WEST WING (NBC, TV-PG) C.J. and Charlie pull pranks, while the Prez plays chess.

9:30-10PM THE JOB (ABC, TV-14-D) Judging by the Nielsens, I'm the only person in America still watching Denis Leary's cop comedy. Catch it while you can as the officers try to push each other out of the closet.

THURSDAY February 28

8-9PM WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? (ABC, TV-PG-DL) More like, Who's Responsible for Putting This Show on Thirty Times a Week?

SEASON PREMIERE 10-11PM WWF TOUGH ENOUGH (MTV, TV-PG-L) Once again, 13 wannabe grapplers train and act like maniacs in hopes of becoming professional...well, maniacs.

10-11PM PRIMETIME THURSDAY (ABC) Is it just me or is Cher slowly becoming the seemingly ageless female equivalent of Dick Clark? Either way, she'll be interviewed here tonight, so you can draw your own conclusions.

SEASON PREMIERE 8-9PM SURVIVOR: MARQUESAS (CBS) What if they aired a new edition of Survivor, and nobody watched? Things aren't that dire for Mark Burnett and Co., but there is a decided lack of buzz about installment No. 4 of the reality giant. Sixteen new contestants settle down in Nuku Hiva in the South Pacific, and we already have someone to root for: Gina Crews! Not only does the 28-year-old Floridian (above) have us intrigued by her choice in luxury items (the ever-mysterious ''Adventure Bag''), but she actually lists The Goonies as one of her favorite films! It's about time someone gave John Matuszak some well-deserved props.

FRIDAY March 1

4,000TH EPISODE! 7-8AM* SESAME STREET (PBS, TV-G) It's always cool when celebrities stop by Sesame Street, even though my kid has no idea who the hell they are. Destiny's Child will be the ones confusing my son this morning when they celebrate the show's 4,000th episode. *CHECK LOCAL LISTINGS

7:30-9PM PLANET TWELVE: THE SECRET LIFE OF 12-YEAR-OLDS (HBO Family, TV-G) Sixth grader Ebony Richardson cowrote and narrates this look at a class of preteens.

8-10PM 33RD NAACP IMAGE AWARDS (Fox, TV-G) I got a gal named Daisy, she almost drives me crazy talking about how much she loved those old Little Richard Taco Bell ads. No doubt she'll be tuned in tonight to see the rock legend inducted into the NAACP Hall of Fame. Chris Tucker hosts.

8:30-9PM THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS (Nickelodeon) 'N Sync's Chris Kirkpatrick guest-stars. At least his voice does, when he puts words in the mouth of teen music star Chip Skylark.

9-11PM MISS USA 2002 (CBS, TV-G) Expect primping, preening, and narcissism aplenty -- and we're just talking about the host! Former NFL cornerback Deion Sanders will be sure to intercept much of the attention when he acts as master of ceremonies for the annual beauty pageant.

10:30PM-12:40AM TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (Turner Classic Movies) Reason No. 1 why Gregory Peck rules.

SEASON PREMIERE 8-8:30PM STATE OF GRACE (ABC Family, TV-PG) It's a simple show about a simpler time (1965 in North Carolina), but what State of Grace lacks in electricity it makes up in easygoing charm. As the second season kicks off, Grace (Mae Whitman) has conflicting feelings over the engagement of her mother, Tattie (Faye Grant, above with Whitman), to nice guy Tommy Austin. Meanwhile, childhood pal Hannah (whose adult voice -- provided by Frances McDormand -- narrates the show) and her family ooh and ahh over their first color TV set. Certainly nothing wrong with that. In fact, if there were more quality family shows like Grace on, perhaps we would do the same. B+

SATURDAY March 2

LIVE OR LET DIE 11PM-12:30AM 6 MONTHS TO LIVE: RICHARDSON VS. MISSOURI (Court TV, TV-14) Court TV's The System presents a compelling chronicle of the months preceding the scheduled March 2001 execution of Antonio Richardson, sentenced to death for murder at age 16. Cameras follow Richardson's attorney (Gino Battisti, above), who successfully manages to get a stay of execution, arguing that a mentally retarded teenager never should have been sentenced to die. Filled with legal challenges and personal pleas, this documentary exposes the complexities of capital punishment and the painful trials of those closest to the condemned. A- -- Monica Mehta

6:35-8:40PM CHARIOTS OF FIRE (Sundance Channel, TV-PG) Great, now I can't get the damn theme song out of my head.

8-11PM DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER (ABC, TV-14-DLSV) Mr. Kidd and Mr. Wint always freaked me out as a kid. Truth be told, they still kind of give me the willies.

8-10PM BRIDGET JONES'S DIARY (STARZ!, TV-R) Oscar nominee Renee Zellweger proves she can sound British.

9-11PM TARGET STARS ON ICE 2002 (A&E, TV-G) The best thing about this figure-skating extravaganza? No judges!

10-11PM JUSTICE FILES (Discovery Channel, TV-PG) Tonight's episode on informants profiles undercover agent Andrew Chambers, who helped put away more than 400 drug dealers. Of course, that's not so difficult when you're constantly making stuff up on the witness stand.

SUNDAY March 3

7-9PM CINDERELLA (ABC, TV-G) The classic 1950 cartoon still holds up today, but what's the big deal about being home by midnight? I mean, I think riding around in a pumpkin would be pretty freakin' cool.

SERIES DEBUT 7-8PM NO BOUNDARIES (The WB, TV-PG) Fifteen contestants have 30 days to get from British Columbia to the Arctic Circle. They also try not to freeze their bums off.

7-8PM CONVERSATIONS FROM THE EDGE WITH CARRIE FISHER (Oxygen, TV-PG) The host may just have to jump over it this time to locate guest Courtney Love.

SERIES DEBUT 8-9:35PM JEREMIAH (Showtime, TV-14) Luke Perry stars as a postapocalyptic loner in a world where the only survivors are scoundrels, thieves, and kids from The Cosby Show -- more specifically, Malcolm-Jamal Warner.

8-10PM DEAD IN A HEARTBEAT (TBS, TV-14) The revenge of the nerds continues when Poindexter himself (Timothy Busfield) goes around planting bombs. It's up to Judge Reinhold -- Judge Reinhold! -- to save the day.

SERIES DEBUT 8-9PM THE SCORE (TRIO) Grammy award-winning producer Phil Ramone -- no, he's not one of those Ramones -- hosts this new series exploring music composed for films. Rob Reiner, Matthew Sweet, and Darius Rucker are among the guests popping by this evening.

8-9:30PM* GENE KELLY: ANATOMY OF A DANCER (PBS) It was kinda tough to see him go from Singin' in the Rain and An American in Paris to Viva Knievel! and Xanadu, but what are you gonna do? American Masters profiles the dancing machine. *CHECK LOCAL LISTINGS

9-10PM AMERICA'S BEST BEACHES 2002 (Travel Channel, TV-PG) Jenny McCarthy never met a bikini she didn't like. (Actually, judging by her numerous Playboy spreads, she doesn't like clothing much at all.) As host, she'll tell you where to have fun in the sun.

9-11PM CROSSED OVER (CBS, TV-14) Diane Keaton plays the mother of a murdered teen. Jennifer Jason Leigh plays a convicted killer. You don't think they could actually end up being...best friends?

9-10PM GUT BUSTERS (Discovery Channel, TV-PG) It might be considered rude and insensitive to refer to competitive eaters as ''freaks,'' but really, what else are you gonna call them? (Well, ''disgusting freaks,'' maybe, but that's probably pushing it too far.) Decide for yourself after sitting through this special on the sickest sport around.

10-11:45PM MONICA IN BLACK AND WHITE (HBO, TV-MA) Hold on, we thought the dress was blue. In any event, the world's most famous intern chats about her old pal Bubba.

SEASON PREMIERE 9-10PM SIX FEET UNDER (HBO, TV-MA) The terrific second-season premiere, written by series creator Alan Ball, follows up on plot danglers such as the reverberations of the car accident Nate (Peter Krause, above right with Michael C. Hall) and Brenda (Rachel Griffiths) were in, and who in the undertaking Fisher family is going to inadvertently eat that tab of Ecstasy in the kitchen-cupboard aspirin bottle. The episode also sets up a strong new story line for hardworking, underappreciated mortician Federico (Freddy Rodriguez), probably the most vividly drawn Latino character on TV. All this, plus a brain-rattling scene involving the embodiments of life and death and Nate's dead dad (give it up for Richard Jenkins, the coolest corpse on cable, ladies and gentlemen!). A
