Nicole Kidman plays a mail-order bride shipped to London for a timorous English bank clerk (Ben Chaplin), a Russian chick who's not the immigrant naif she appears to be. Kidman lustily embraces the smeared-mascara side of her talents, but for all the zany business built into the story (including a bank robbery and teases of bondage sex), this effortfully decorated British romantic caper is an underspiced slab of cake.
