OLYMPIC QUALIFIER

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Collateral Damage opened at a less-than-muscular No. 1, but the real collateral damage was suffered by the biz as moviegoers stayed home to watch the Olympics. An underwhelming batch of new releases enabled Ah-nuld to pull off his first headlining chart-topper since last century's Eraser. Frankie Muniz's kiddie revenge comedy Big Fat Liar tallied $11.6 million (not bad considering it cost only about $15 million to make), and Chris Klein's extreme-sport remake Rollerball took the bronze with $9 million (not great considering it cost about $85 million to produce). Apparently, more folks were interested in the luge.
