It's incredibly hard to ruin a story as universally thrilling as Alexandre Dumas' The Three Musketeers, a tale of honor, romance, friendship, and good ol' heroic derring-do. Leave it to director/cinematographer/action hack Peter Hyams (End of Days) to find a way. Step one in ruination: Cast a vacuous pretty boy (Chambers) in the lead. Step two: Doll it up with nonsensical Hong Kong fight choreography that finds the actors flailing their swords at each other like children, seesawing around on ladders, and swinging on ropes like monkeys in nicely embroidered pants. Step three: Release it to the public.
