GREG THE BUNNY
In Fox's behind-the-scenes puppet regime, stuffed animals set
out to prove they're people too
Fox tries a different kind of star power with this randy Larry Sanders-esque sitcom about the humans and puppets behind a fictional children's TV show, Sweetknuckle Junction. But this isn't kiddie fare; the puppets, explains costar Seth Green (Austin Powers), "have real livesthey have divorces and litigation and property taxes, and they deal with the same problems and prejudices that people deal with." Green stars as Jimmy, the son of Junction's put-upon producer (Eugene Levy), and the titular hare's hapless roommate. "[He's] not incredibly motivated, and kind of a misfit, so he becomes best friends with Greg." Even so, the former Buffy star says conversing naturally with a stuffed costar took some practice. "I'm not used to puppets talking with a normal demeanor," says Green, "but that's the universe we live in." (March)
FRIENDS
Mum's the word on Rachel's due date, so we deliver our own
predictions
So what if the Friends producers are still keeping quiet about the landmark seasonand possible seriesfinale. Don't worry. We at EW have a highly active imagination: In a hush-hush return guest appearance, George Clooney is assigned to deliver Rachel's baby! Ross gets jealous and mopes in the corner. Monica starts compulsively cleaning the delivery room, but inadvertently throws out the lyrics to Phoebe's diaper-changing ditty, "Smelly Crap," causing a huge fight that spooks Chandler, who sneaks off for a smoke, only to get trapped in a stairwell. Luckily, he's rescued by Joey, who's looking for a private place to make out with a cute nurse (Nicole Kidman). As everyone coos over Baby Geller-Green, Marcel the monkey crashes through the doors, holding the missing Diet Coke! Poignant laughter. Fade to black. (May)
