The sun-baked reggae groove in a clip for the new Ford Thunderbird is "Old Man Dub," from last year's Somnambulista album by L.A. band BRAZZAVILLE (led by Beck saxophonist David Brown).

The Stonesy garage nugget heard in an American Eagle Outfitters commercial is ALEX CHILTON's cover of the Troggs' "With a Girl Like You," found on the 19 Years of Alex Chilton collection.

The graciously funky tune ("All I want to do is to thank you/Even though I don't know who you are") featured in a recent Mercedes ad is "Whoever You Are," from GEGGY TAH's 2000 CD, Sacred Cow.

The not-at-all-poopy ska tune in a Pampers spot is second-wave ska greats the SPECIALS' cover of Dandy Livingstone's "Rudy, A Message to You," available on their 1979 self-titled debut.
