B
As a singer, his delivery is clipped, his range tiny; as a pianist, his blues urbane, if unspectacular. But Allison gets to you. These 17 live quartet tracks are marred by weak segues and pedestrian guitar solos, but originals like ''Molecular Structure'' bear delicious wordplay and Ellington's ''Lucky So & So'' sounds just laid-back enough. Allison's odd sarcasm and boyish charm resonate long after his thin voice fades away.
