Like most tributes, this one suffers from a surfeit of faithfulness—to the extent you can be faithful to a guy who used a freakin' orchestra. But Lynne's such an ideal honoree that even the least inspired of this double CD's 32 covers prompt sing-alongs. Highlights are p-Lynne-tiful, from departures like Todd Rundgren's adult contempo-electronica ''Bluebird Is Dead'' to Brit Invasion revivalists who put a rockin' move on ELO material, a la the Shazam's ''Twilight.''
