Kennedy's Profiles in Courage is a posthumous No. 1 on the Publishers Weekly nonfiction list. AND In The News, the trial of white supremacist Byron De La Beckwith for the murder of civil rights leader Medgar Evers ends in a hung jury. Beckwith was eventually convicted in 1994.
