On his fifth album, the hip-hop heavyweight delivers more energetic rhymes laid over unorthodox, techno-tinged beats. While impressive, Rhymes' vocal calisthenics verge on trendy, but cameos from Jaheim, the Neptunes, Mary J. Blige, and Rah Digga add street grime. Despite a few monotonous moments, Genesis is an exciting ode to hydro and ho's -- and a great beginning at his new label.
