Rather than exploit her early successes, Jones has spent the past two decades following her restless muse, with inconsistent, but often wonderful, results. This concert set finds an energized Jones, accompanied by a remarkably sympathetic band, delivering deeply felt performances of material drawn largely from her eponymous 1979 debut and her 1989 cult classic Flying Cowboys. Like those albums, it captures Jones' personalized folk/jazz/R&B fusion at its most inspired.
