VARIOUS ARTISTS Vanilla Sky soundtrack (Reprise) Accompaniment to Cameron Crowe's latest film is provided by the likes of Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Sigur Ros, and Paul McCartney, who sings the title track.
IN THE STUDIO
CRAIG DAVID, in London and New York, recording the follow-up to his international smash Born to Do It. Tentatively due out in late summer of 2002, the album will feature contributions from Born producer Mark Hill (Artful Dodger), among others.
CASSANDRA WILSON, in New York, putting finishing touches on Belly of the Sun, which she recorded in a converted train station in Clarksdale, Miss., near her birthplace. Set for spring 2002, it's a typical Wilsonian mix of blues, roots, and jazz.
Groovy party band LEN, in L.A., working on We Be Who We Be, the follow-up to 1999's You Can't Stop the Bum Rush--(with the irresistible "Steal My Sunshine"). Slated for March, We Be will include a cover of New Edition's "Cool It Now."
