With All My Might (1990)

George Fox, who has proved himself a comer on the Canadian country front, divides the program on With All My Might, his first American album, into love songs, dance tunes, and songs of social relevance. Influenced as much by Bruce Springsteen as by Randy Travis, Fox hasn't quite nailed down his style, and too many of his efforts seem to be uncompleted thoughts. A failure in the social relevance category (''Mr. President'' hits hard at soft targets), Fox scores better on love songs and best on rhythm numbers. ''Bachelor Girl,'' for example, evokes a good-humored Mark Knopfler, and ''Lime Rickey'' — which almost could pass for a rockabilly classic — explodes off the disc.
