'Star Wars' Gets Romantic

"Star Wars: Episode II -- Attack of the Clones" will heavily feature the relationship between a young Darth Vader and Queen Amidala

Remember a few weeks back when fans went gaga over the first trailer for Star Wars: Episode II—Attack of the Clones? Well, now there are two more! The new spots feature more action—especially between Anakin (Hayden Christensen) and Amidala (Natalie Portman), prompting some Star-crossed words from those wary of a love-story emphasis. ''Some of the [romantic] dialogue does feel forced,'' says TheForce.net editor Joshua Griffin. Lucasfilm was circumspect, but we culled insight from fansites. (Warning: Read no further if you want to go into Clones clueless.)

FOREBODING PLANETS In addition to Naboo, Tatooine, and Coruscant—all featured in Episode I—the Clones sneak peeks highlight two new planets: Geonosis, a rocky territory whose inhabitants capture Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor), Anakin, and Amidala; and Kamino, a watery planet where an insidious plot is in the works.

COUNT US IN One spot features a glimpse of a bearded villain (Christopher Lee) whom Internet sites ID as Count Dooku, a sinister ex-Jedi who engages Anakin and Obi-Wan in serious lightsaber rattling.

NO NABOO-TY CALL ''I thought [love] was forbidden for a Jedi,'' Amidala tells Anakin. Apparently, the knights are required to lead lives of abstinence—a credo also evident in the new poster (above). No wonder Alec Guinness was always frowning.
