Pulpit Fiction
I disagree with Ken Tucker's review of The West Wing's terrorism episode (News & Notes). He may have felt "reprimanded and corrected," but I (as well as other viewers, I suspect) was educated by it. As for the line that "accepting more than one idea...makes 'em absolutely crazy," is that not the perfect turn of phrase to remind viewers that the beliefs of such extremists should be trivialized? So what if Aaron Sorkin used The West Wing to do a little preaching? It's the only show on TV these days worthy of being a pulpit. LAURI GEUZEBROEK Whitby, Ontario
CORRECTION: Will Smith isn't the only African-American actor to earn $20 million for a movie. Others include Chris Tucker, Martin Lawrence, and Eddie Murphy (News & Notes).
A NOTE ON THE PREVIEW CALENDAR (page 86): As we went to press, these movies were added to the holiday release schedule: Behind Enemy Lines (Nov. 30), Black Hawk Down (Dec. 28), and Last Orders (Dec. 7).
