'PAX' A PUNCH

Finding earth audiences very much to its liking, K-PAX beamed into first place with star Kevin Spacey's best live-action opening ever ($17.2 million). Just behind it, Thirteen Ghosts busted into the two-spot ($15.2 million). The week's other major openings were not so pretty. Snoop Dogg's Bones toked a bad hit of box office weed ($2.8 million), and the Lance Bass/Joey Fatone vehicle On the Line didn't crack the top 10 ($2.3 million). And finally, the EW box office chart sees all: Disney quietly dumped the Minnie Driver flick High Heels and Low Lifes into 175 theaters, where it finished 32nd with a pathetic $649 per screen.
