But even the prospect that the Super Bowl would be played in Baltimore's Ravens Stadium is unlikely. The NFL has a policy of not staging the winter game in open-air arenas in northern climes, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello says. And while the league is considering making an exception for the next open game in 2007, Baltimore ''is not on our list,'' according to Aiello. (The NFL didn't participate in the making of the film, and didn't license the use of its trademarks or logos to the filmmakers.)

Also unlikely is the fact that the president would sit among the bleacher bums in the cheap seats, as he does in the movie, instead of a luxury skybox. ''It's atypical for a head of state to sit in the general seating bowl,'' says Roy Sommerhof, who runs Ravens Stadium. What's more, Aiello says no sitting head of state has ever attended the Super Bowl.

As for whether a nuclear device could be smuggled into the stadium, Sommerhof says the only long bombs will be on the gridiron. ''With most stadia after September 11, people reexamined their security procedures. Everybody who comes in is screened.'' Even during the off-season at Ravens Stadium, Sommerhof says, ''If someone wants to bring a backpack into the building, they’re screened.'' And don't worry about a bomb being hidden in a cigarette machine, he adds. ''We don't have cigarette machines here.''
