Details Release Date: Oct 23, 2001; Lead Performance: Raul Malo

As the lead singer of the Mavericks, Malo crafted the majority of the group's impassioned ballads and proved its most influential Latin stylist. Not surprisingly, his first solo project is full of frenetic rhythms and tropical heat. While the four Spanish-language songs will seek their own audience, Anglos may find ''It Takes Two to Tango,'' a duet with Shelby Lynne, the most electric pairing since Elvis and Ann-Margret.
