The original rapscallion Adam (sinful charmer Townsend) plucks the heart of the ever-tempting Lucy (Hudson, with a competent Irish accent). He then proceeds to seduce both of her sisters -- a bookish student and a bored housewife -- because he ''likes to give people what they want.'' Writer-director Gerard Stembridge refreshingly brings Dublin and its citizens into the present, shunning dour cityscapes and tweedy woolens for bright cafes and trendy clothes. But his happy, hugfest ending -- as well as Hudson's torch songs -- feels distractingly too good to be true.
