Tea Party

If you thought tea was just for sipping, think again. First, green tea was infused into everything from facial washes to mudpacks. Now, Origins (whose celebrity following includes Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Kristin Davis, and Kelly Ripa) is utilizing the rare and expensive Silver Tip white tea in its Perfect World White Tea Skin Guardian. And according to the company, it's been flying off the shelves. ''It's doing really well -- the demand is high,'' says one Origins spokeswoman. Found only in China a few days out of the year, the Silver Tip is ''not a generic strain of white tea; it's very specific,'' says Origins' VP of worldwide marketing Roberta Weiss, noting that the potion supposedly contains three times more antioxidants than green tea. ''In ancient China,'' adds Weiss, ''only royalty was allowed to drink it because it was thought to be the elixir of immortality.'' Sounds like skin has found its Shangri-la.
