Now that Gil Bellows has traded Ally McBeal's unisex bathroom for The Agency's CIA headquarters, the truth can be told: Blonds don't have more fun. ''The blond hair objectified me,'' recalls the actor, who went platinum for his whacked-out last days on Ally. ''Even in California, if you're blond, people give you a double take automatically. And if they recognize you, they may do the triple take. Then the yelling and screaming. It was so scary that I took to wearing baseball hats.'' Now back to his brunet roots, Bellows takes pride in his more realistic new role. ''I had some ambivalence about my purpose on Ally,'' he says. ''With The Agency, I know why I'm here.''
