Lead Performance: P.O.D.
B+
Religious-minded metal has come a long way since Stryper. On P.O.D.'s second major-label album, the San Diego-based foursome may yell for ''Jah'' and rap positive messages, but they hardly come off as goody-goodies or born-again zealots. In fact, their rapping has more edge, their riffs more heft, and their tracks more hooks than ever. They even manage to make their screams catchy. And that's something to believe in.
