When a 12th-century knight (Reno) and his buffoonish knave (Christian Clavier) time-travel to modern-day Chicago in this Americanized version of the 1993 French hit Les Visiteurs, you see every culture-shock gag coming before it's within jousting distance: Zut! The car is a metal beast! Mon Dieu! The little people are trapped in the TV! And you just know that someone's going to eat a urinal cake. John Hughes teamed with the original's screenwriters, so jingoists can feel proud that every head-bonk and pratfall is as American as Curly Sue.
