Internet Review

Okayplayer

There are interactive music sites, and then there's Okayplayer. Updated daily, the site (okayplayer.com) boasts the Flash-heavy online homes of neo-soul fave D'Angelo and hip-hop darlings the Roots, Common, and Talib Kweli. Slick design aside, the site's real pull is its insanely popular message boards, where the artists and fans debate and discuss everything from music and politics to fashion faux pas. The folks who frequent the site have already held two unofficial offline get-togethers (this summer's was in Chicago) in what is becoming hip-hop's 21st-century answer to the Deadhead phenomenon.
