FOOT WORK Don Roos, the director of The Opposite of Sex and Bounce, has learned you really have to watch your instep with the MPAA, thanks to a nixed one-sheet for Lions Gate's gay comedy, All Over the Guy. According to exec producer Roos, the ratings board decided the film's poster failed to toe the moral line because four people's feet dangled from the sheets, accompanied by the words ''1 girl + 3 guys = 2 couples. You do the math''; the board also killed the revised poster, which separated the two couples but showed the men playing footsie. ''They said it looks like one man is on top of the other,'' says Roos, who is doubly insulted since it's his own tootsies that are the subject of such dissension (he posed along with his boyfriend, Guy writer and star Dan Bucatinsky). ''I said, 'First of all, who cares, and second of all, it means a man with two left feet is on top of a man with two right feet. They should get a prize for finding each other.''' The MPAA has finally approved a poster with the line ''4 friends, 2 couples. Twice as much to lie about in the morning'' -- hardly offensive, Roos points out, because ''none of us know what it means.'' Roos has no plans to take the MPAA to task, saying, ''That would be too straight an activity. I'd prefer to talk badly about them behind their back.''
GO FISHER In an attempt to bring you a non-limb-related item, we're pleased to tell you that rapper Ja Rule, who appears in The Fast and the Furious, says he's auditioning for a role in The Antwone Fisher Story, about the former Navy man and security guard-turned-screenwriter. Denzel Washington plans to costar and direct; Fox will (oh, we can't help it) foot the bill.
