American Tragedy (2012)

Written by Norman Mailer and starring Rhames as Johnnie Cochran and Silver as Robert Shapiro, this CBS miniseries brings a remarkable pedigree to the long-stale O.J. Simpson debacle. Director Lawrence Schiller mixes re-creations and archival footage to craft a surreal behind-the-scenes-of-the-dream-team document -- which, by the way, posits Simpson as clearly guilty -- that shakes the fetid whiff of years-late opportunism and brings the events of 1994 back in a sickening, sad burst.
