This movie would be great...if we knew what the hell was going on. Hong Kong-based director Tsui Hark's (the Once Upon a Time in China saga) latest alternates between a quirky love story and super-stylized action blowout. At least we think so. Truth be told, the plot is so convoluted and impossible to dissect, we just kinda gave up trying to follow it and decided to enjoy the carnage instead, which is, of course, considerable. Plus, how often do you get to see a woman give birth and fire a gun -- at the same time!
