'Shoe Fits

Maybe horseshoes do bring good luck. Actress Mia Koniver and casting director Lizzie Scheck started making jewelry as a way of de-stressing. Now their designs -- including a diamond horseshoe pendant -- have found their way onto TV's most style-conscious show. Sex and the City singleton Carrie Bradshaw has dumped last season's ever-present nameplate necklace for one or more of the Mia & Lizzie baubles. ''We kind of retired the 'Carrie' necklace,'' says show stylist Patricia Field. Besides, she adds, ''when Sarah Jessica Parker saw the horseshoe, it made her happy -- and that's my job.'' The $400 to $2,400 horseshoes have caused a stampede at stores like Neiman Marcus and Intermix (Jennifer Lopez and Penelope Cruz are also fans of the line). As for the designers, they're enjoying an added bonus: ''I wore it on a date,'' says Scheck, ''and it really was lucky.''
