The fleet Chinese action hero Jet Li stars as a good agent battling hordes of bad guys in this serviceable, strenuously hard-boiled contemporary caper set in a gritty, amoral Paris of hookers, punks, and corrupt cops. This is grimy guy-on-guy fun -- the fight scenes are tight and balletic. But the momentum is regularly interrupted by puddles of damp girl woe: A wan Bridget Fonda plays a bruised young woman hooked on heroine and forced into prostitution.
