"My Baby" (2001)

EW's GRADE
B

Details Release Date: May 01, 2001; Lead Performance: Lil' Romeo; Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

With this debut single, the 11-year-old son of rap mogul Master P unseats Michael Jackson as Billboard's youngest-ever solo chart-topper. Funny, since the tune rips off the Jackson 5's ''I Want You Back'' so completely, it needs to be labeled an ''adaptation.'' The pre-pubescent MC avoids his old man's gangsta boasts; instead, he sweetly brags about ''makin' A's and B's'' and shouts out to Bugs Bunny.
