Don't let the kinda catchy Beastie Boys-meet-Blink-182 hybrid of their current MTV hit ''Fat Lip'' (or their arrogant album title) fool you. For their debut CD, these four Canadians mostly stick to the sort of annoyingly generic grade-school punk that Green Day outgrew several albums ago. Getting over more on speed and spirit than hooks and substance, Sum 41 ultimately don't add up to much.
