THE CHARTS

'ROUGE' AWAKENING

Maybe the correct pro-nunciation is Moolah Rouge. With the wide release of the movie musical, and its single "Lady Marmalade" lodged at No. 1, the Moulin album was in no danger of succumbing to "consumption." Instead, it cancanned up to No. 3. Another soundtrack, Pearl Harbor, also got a boost. Despite a video featuring a fully clothed Faith Hill--as opposed to scantily clad "ladies" Lil' Kim, Christina Aguilera, Mya, and Pink--Harbor proved no bomb, ascending 17 spots to No. 14. Staind broke the cycle of a new No. 1 album every week by holding that slot, blemishing the moral fiber of 326,000 more fans.
