'UNDER' TAKERS?
HBO's combination of sex and death did not go down quite as smoothly the second time around, as Alan Ball's mortuary-centric drama Six Feet Under (4th) lost 1.1 million viewers from its debut the previous week. Meanwhile, week 2 of Sex and the City (1st) produced the series' third-most-watched half hour ever. In the world of basic cable, TNT's Sunday-night rebroadcast of the star-studded sapfest You've Got Mail (5th) attracted 1.4 million more viewers than ESPN's live baseball broadcast (21st), while an avalanche of anatomic teasers--like John Travolta's tummy and Cameron Diaz's armpits--successfully lured 6.4 million viewers to the MTV 2001 Movie Awards (1st).
