This album of ballads should have revealed the expressive wellspring behind saxophonist Brecker's usual razzle-dazzle. Unfortunately, Pat Metheny's airbrushed production saps any honest emotion from the all-star ensemble (which includes James Taylor on two tracks). The distressingly lightweight results don't plead well for Brecker's case.
