THE CHARTS

U2 BEST IN SHOW

One band made an album called Boy. The other would just as soon you not call them "boys." We're speaking of U2 and 'N Sync, who topped Amusement Business' weekly ranking of the highest-grossing gigs. U2 pulled in $5.6 million with a sold-out four-night stand in a Boston arena, while 'N Sync managed $3.3 million from two stadium concerts in Hershey, Pa. While the attendance for these two runs was nearly the same, the more adult-oriented U2's steeper ticket prices accounted for much of the drastic disparity in grosses between the former PopMart purveyors and the current PopOdyssey pips.
