Fiction readers got serious this week, voting Danielle Steel off the list and replacing her with the more literary-minded Anne Tyler. Her 15th novel, Back When We Were Grownups (200,000 copies in print)--about a middle-aged woman grappling with her sense of identity--debuts at No. 8. Moving from crises of the mid-life sort to those of national security, James Bamford's behind-the-scenes look at the National Security Agency lands him a hot spot on the nonfiction list. Recently freed from Doubleday's embargo, Body of Secrets (75,000 copies in print) reveals itself at No. 7.
