Come Dream With Me (2001)

Listening to tracks 1 through 11, which are mostly classics, you'd think the 23-year-old has been singing standards for decades. Track 12 -- a snippet of 3-year-old Jane's rendition of ''Over the Rainbow'' -- proves it's true. As with last year's debut, Monheit's charms are enhanced by jazz aces like trumpeter Tom Harrell, pianist Kenny Barron, and saxist Michael Brecker. Here, she varies contexts, singing one ballad with strings and performing a duet with electric bassist Richard Bona.
