IN THE STUDIO

MARC ANTHONY, in New York City, recording separate salsa and pop albums that will be released simultaneously in late August. Still undecided is whether the English-language release will include his duet with Jessica Simpson, currently slated only for her June 5 release.

DIANA KRALL, in New York City and L.A., wrapping up a September album of standards (most associated with Frank Sinatra), with lush orchestrations by composer-arranger Claus Ogerman.

Speaking of Krall, she'll be duetting with TONY BENNETT on Bennett Sings the Blues, just getting under way in New York City. Pairings for the November record are also planned with Bonnie Raitt, k.d. lang, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, B.B. King, and Etta James.
